Here it is DIRECT from the Adura Installation guide itself: Two previously installed layers of RESILIENT flooring.OOOOOPS! Who thought that was a good idea? (that's rhetorical - no need to answer). If not, find another flooring installer and make sure a floating floor gets t-moldings through door ways. Ask for thresholds and then see if it works. Ask to see if the floor company will come out and cut the floor through door ways to add T-moldings.this is cheap and fast and will probably save your floor.Good luck. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that if you had proper expansion gaps at the walls and ALL doorways had thresholds (t-moldings) the problem would go away. In essence you have one big continuous piece of vinyl that is moving and expanding TOO MUCH and it is pushing itself up off the ground at the point of least resistance = every seam in the floor. And 99% of those homeowners then have PROBLEMS with their floors because of it. Too many times homeowners have dictated that "no transitions" through doorways. No matter what the homeowner "wants" the floor MUST have these transitions. Floating ANYTHING must have (ahem.MUST HAVE) transition strips through doorways etc. Ceramic/porcelain/stone tiles also do well in a continuous install. At this point, the shop you have purchased from is having issues with SOMETHING in your home and they can't seem to figure it out.which tells me all I need to know.īest floors for continuous runs with NO THRESHOLDS = glue down "anything" or nail-in-place hardwoods. Personally I would take a refund and then hire someone else. You then take that highly prized piece of writing to the point of sales/installation and ask them to refund your money or get you a new floor. If you want some resolution, you can always hire your own INDEPENDENT inspector (National Wood Flooring Association Certified Flooring Inspector) who will write a document that will stand up in court. It has lost so much money that they are dodging your calls. It think this shop has bitten off more than it can chew. There's a hint in that answer!!!! And the other thing you mentioned is the floor store messed up linoleum install - TWICE! I think we can add "vinyl" mess up as well. The Adura planks rarely have issues with installed installed. Even with vinyl (especially click together.the click system can only handle so much strain and then it has problems). I have HUGE problems with floating floors that do NOT have transition strips through door ways, etc. I assume by your comment "they will want to glue it down next time" that this is a floating or "loose lay" floor (floating = click together loose lay = just sitting side by side). Is this on wood/plywood subfloor or is this on concrete slab? Moisture from underneath can do this as well. Attached photos! Flooring is Mannington Adura Could movement or shifting in my home cause this? I'm totally stumped and want to get my facts straight incase the claim is denied and I have to dispute it. YES I have windows YES I allow sunlight in, who doesn't?! But it's cupping in areas that have zero sunlight. Could that cause any issues? The floor is cupping through the entire main floor. Does underlay affect this type of flooring? The installers installed the plank flooring over 2 previous layers of linoleum flooring. Just because it's cupping it's an automatic temperature issue? I've also read that sunlight effects the floor causing similar issues. I have a newly built house (4years), temperature is always set at 72 and my hvac system is always running with humidity set at 35%. I've read other posts about temperature and humidity levels voiding warranty but who's to argue the temperature of my home. My floating vinyl plank flooring is cupping and peaking and seams are gapping.
